Gate Repair Before & After in Bedford, TX

We could tell you we do clean work, but a photo record makes the point in about three seconds. Every gate we touch leaves with the same thing attached to the job file: pictures of what it looked like when we pulled up, what we found underneath the covers, and what it looks like when we’re done. Here are a few recent transformations from around Bedford, from sagging driveway gates to openers that had quietly given up.

Recent Transformations

Sagging Driveway Gate, Bedford’s Oak Forest Area

Sagging driveway gate before repair in Bedford TX
Before: gate leaf dragging on the concrete, hinge posts leaning outward.

The gate was dragging a two-inch groove into the driveway because the hinge post had pulled off plumb over about ten years of Texas clay movement. We cut the post free, set it back in a deeper concrete footing, and re-hung the leaf so it swung with a half-inch clearance. The photo log we left showed the post level reading before and after, plus the new hardware in place.

Chain-Drive Opener Failure on a Harvey Street Property

Failed chain drive gate opener before replacement in Bedford TX
Before: chain stripped, motor running without moving the gate.

The motor ran, but the chain had stripped enough teeth on the drive sprocket that the gate wasn’t going anywhere. We replaced the sprocket and chain, reset the open and close limits, and photographed the new limit positions against the old ones. It’s the kind of repair that takes an hour, but only if you don’t try to force the motor to do work it can’t do anymore.

Keypad Not Reading Cards on a Light Commercial Gate

Gate access control keypad repair in Bedford TX
Before: keypad flashing, no card or code response at the gate.

A Bedford office complex had a keypad that would beep but never actually send a signal to the board. We traced it to a corroded connection inside the pedestal, cleaned and re-terminated the wiring, and ran a test with three different cards and a code. The before-and-after photos show the green terminal block reading corrosion, followed by the clean block and a gate mid-open on command.

Welded Patch on a Twisted Iron Gate Leaf

Welded iron gate repair in Bedford TX
Before: split weld at the corner joint, leaf twisting under its own weight.

The bottom corner weld had cracked and the gate was twisting enough to bind against the latch post. We ground out the failed weld, squared the frame, and re-welded it with a gusset so the same spot doesn’t become the next weak point. The after photo shows the gate hanging straight with no twist, and the repair is invisible unless you know where to look.

Photon Beam Misalignment Causing Gate Reversals

Photo eye sensor misalignment repair on Bedford TX gate
Before: photo-eye housings aimed at each other’s edges, not the lenses.

A homeowner called because the gate would start closing, then jump back open every single time. The photo-eyes, the infrared beam that stops the gate when something crosses the path, had been knocked about two inches out of line and were talking to each other’s housings instead of their lenses. We realigned them, fastened the brackets so a stiff wind wouldn’t undo the work, and watched the gate close ten times in a row without a reversal.
